A Waynesburg man is under arrest after allegedly fleeing from officers twice.

Jason Shook, 39, of Waynesburg, was arrested Sunday along with Veronica Hodgson, 35, of Waynesburg, who allegedly helped conceal him from police.

Shook was first approached Thursday in Franklin Township by a Greene County sheriff’s deputy who had been told Shook was wanted for a probation violation, according to the criminal complaint.

Shook repeatedly told police he had a gun and would shoot himself, the complaint said.

After police held Shook at gunpoint, he fled into the woods, the complaint said. Police attempts to find Shook with canines and drones were unsuccessful.

Two days later, police tried to serve an arrest warrant at a home on Washington Road in Waynesburg, where the homeowner informed them Shook was staying with Hodgson, the complaint said.

Police climbed the stairs to the second story, where they found the window locked from the inside, the complaint said. They detained Hodgson, who they alleged locked the window.

In the meantime, Shook escaped to the roof, according to the complaint. Police said he jumped to the next rooftop before being apprehended.

Shook faces charges of aggravated assault, flight to avoid apprehension, possession of a controlled substance, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest and simple assault.

Hodgson is charged with harboring or concealing a fugitive and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shook’s bail was set at $20,000; Hodgson’s, $10,000. Both are lodged in the Greene County jail.
