Delbert R. “Delly” Dupont, 89, of Uniontown, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
In addition to his parents, Hannah Ashton and Joseph Dupont Sr., he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita M. Pavlitsa Dupont; and his brother, Joseph “Dick” Dupont, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dale Dupont, Keith Dupont, and his youngest, R.T.; his brother, Frederick Dupont and wife Judy; sisters, Donna Opalko and husband Michael, and Bonnie Harper and husband Ronnie; and also many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends.
Delbert proudly and honorably served our nation in the U.S. Navy onboard the destroyer, USS John W. Weeks.
He was a member of the Valley Sportsman Club and was also a member of the United Mine Workers Local 1980.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, in the GATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 136 N. Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 20. Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
