Betty J. Richards, 96, of Dilliner, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in the Hillside Manor Personal Care Home in Uniontown, where she had resided for the past year.
Born in High House, on July 3, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Robina Holt Jordan.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Betty was a caring and dedicated homemaker, who enjoyed looking after the needs of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons: Martin Richards, Jr. (Dian) of New London, Ohio, Harry Alan Richards (Michelle) of Amherst, Ohio and Jeffrey Richards (Lisa) of Bobtown; three daughters: Nellie Flanagan (Mike) of Akron, Ohio, Mary Jane Basiorka (Dennis) of Carmichaels and Beverly Fike (Richard) of Fairbank; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their families.; a brother, Pete Jordan of Dilliner; sisters: Tillie Morgan and Ruth Jordan, both of West Virginia and Cathy Jordan of Texas; and a son-in-law, Stanley Martelli of Uniontown.
Her husband, Martin Richards, Sr., died on July 1, 1993. Also deceased are a daughter, Patricia Martelli; one granddaughter, Jessica; brothers: Jim, Harry and Benjamin Jordan; and sisters: Emma, Evon, Mary Ellen, Josephine, Annie, Nancy, Mae, Zell and Faye.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, and from 10 until the 11 a.m. hour of service on Wednesday, with her grandson, Rick Fike, officiating. Interment follows in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner.
